Born in the Gers, in the heart of Gascony in south‑west France, Zart Zabelle works professionally in the field of communication, a space where she has long expressed her creativity and her sense of connection with others. She now lives between the ocean and the Pyrenees, a territory that deeply nourishes her imagination. Vast natural spaces and their imposing majesty play an essential role in her artistic sensibility, shaping her relationship to the living world.

As a woman, Zart Zabelle has lived several lives, which she now looks back on with kindness and perspective. Over time, she has come to understand and embrace a form of hypersensitivity and emotional intensity that has accompanied her since childhood, and which today feeds the depth and sincerity of her work.

Her artistic influences reflect this inner and exploratory journey. Dalí and Rimbaud first embodied a radical, visionary freedom, followed by Klimt and Schiele, whose work resonates with interiority and vulnerability. Soutine and Alice Neel inspired a quest for sincerity, while Rothko and Zao Wou‑Ki opened the way to depth and vibration through color.

As an artist, Zart Zabelle has shaped her practice through experience, curiosity, and experimentation, guided by personal intuition, encounters, and continuous learning. She has chosen acrylic on canvas for its spontaneity and the sense of urgency imposed by its fast drying time. Texture occupies a central place in her creative process, allowing matter, gesture, and emotion to meet and unfold.

Zart Zabelle’s painting moves between abstraction and suggested figuration. Far from being decorative, they carry a strong symbolic charge, embodying the invisible bonds that connect human beings to each other and to the natural world that sustains us. Sometimes discreet, sometimes structural, these meshes create zones of tension and passage. Zart Zabelle often works with discarded plastic nets, materials originally destined to be thrown away, which she integrates into her compositions to give them a new existence. Recycling becomes a meaningful gesture, reflecting our ability to reinvent bonds and to transform what entangles into what connects. “I don’t know where I’m going. The road is a secret. It absorbs me, presses me, crushes me, then regenerates me. It was necessary to set out, to silence the small inner voice that restrains, and to offer imagination and emotion a colored, tangible form. From that moment on, there are no limits. I discovered a superpower — an inviolable space of freedom.”
